GELOY FXTW20SK Resin ASA描述：

GELOY FXTW20SK Resin is a medium melt flow injection moulding grade of ASA which is designed for applications requiring a combination of abuse resistance, product rigidity and mouldability. As ASA grades show superior colour and property retention compared to ABS, typical uses include parts for garden equipment and TV antennas.

About ASA

Excellent Weather Resistance: it can retard to get decomposed, aged and color faded caused by UV, which is 10 times more than ABS.

High Hear Resistance: suitable for hot area.

Anti-static Material: reduce the dust on the surface, self-clean.

What is the characteristics of ASA

Window: the coating is thin and even, stiff and not fragile, ageing resistance, anti color fading.

Door plank, inside and outside dado, garden fence, road guardrail, and pipe: No color fading, no dirt retention.As copolymers of acrylonitrile-acrylate-styrene, ASA improves the poor weather resistance of ABS, Which has excellent weather resistance, and Keeps the stability even if exposure to the ultraviolet radiation, dampness, drench, sunlight, ozone without coat, especially suitable for outside directly use, such as auto, electric and electronic, commodity and outside decoration material, etc.

Molding process

 Slow fill rates can cause moldings with flaws, poor surface appearance and poor weld line strength.Back Pressure: Minimum pressure to keep a consistence shot, yet not create excessive shear heat. Recommended using 75 - 150 psi.Mold Temperature: 40° - 80°C （100° - 180°F） Higher mold temperature can aid flow in processing, provides a better surface finish, and create less residual stress in the finishedproducts.Injection Rate: A comparative high fill rate is advantageous, because it entails that the temperature does not drop much during the mold fill. Faster fill rates aid in surface finish, and weld line seams of good strength.

Golf R 32 with a radiator grillmade of ASTALAC

A highly UV-stable material was needed so that it remained glossy black year in, year out. Owing to its acrylate-based rubber,  is considerably more resistant to yellowing than conventional standard plastics. This material also met the special requirements in terms of chemical resistance and dimensional stability under heat, as well as depth of color. Often, with other plastics, the desired color effect can only be achieved by applying a coating, but  778 T dispenses with that processing step.

Thanks to close teamwork in designing the mold, the support structure has been reduced to a single part. “In spite of its complex structure, the injection-molding process is easy to carry out. With this part, we have also met VW’s demand for the easiest possible assembly,” explains Thomas Brüsch, managing director of SLM-Kunststofftechnik. In addition to making the front part for the Golf R 32, SLM also uses this ASA to manufacture the radiator grille for the new Passat.

An imposing look and unmistakable design. That is how Volkswagen is showcasing its limited edition Golf R 32, a 250 bhp sports car with a particularly striking radiator grille. When it came to designing the black areas at the front of the car, SLM-Kunststofftechnik, a plastics- processing company located in Oebisfelde, in former East Germany, chose  788 T, a styrene specialty. This material meets Volkswagen’s requirements for outstanding appearance and good stability without the need for any coating. This gives a cost advantage over the polycarbonate blends used in comparable applications.
