Quadrant EPP Duratron® PEI U1000   材料說明：

Duratron® U1000 polyetherimide is an amorphous, high-performance polymer with exceptional flame and heat resistance. It performs continuously to 340°F （171°C）, making it ideal for high strength/high heat applications, and those requiring consistent dielectric properties over a wide frequency range. It is hydrolysis resistant, highly resistant to acidic solutions and capable of withstanding multiple autoclaving cycles.Duratron® U1000 is FDA and USP Class VI compliant. FDA compliant colors of Ultem are also available on a custom basis. Duratron® U1000 commonly is machined into parts for reusable medical devices, analytical instrumentation, electrical/electronic insulators and a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures.

Overview

Polyetherimide （PEI） is a high performance engineeringthermoplastic. PEI's characteristics include high strength and rigidity aevated temperatures, long term heat resistance, dimensional stability andgood electrical properties.

Like other amorphous, high temperature resins, PEI hasoutstanding dimensional stability and is inherently flame retardant. PEI doesresist chemicals, such as hydrocarbons, alcohols and halogenated solvents.

Creep resistance over the long term allows PEI to replacemetal and other materials in many structural applications. Electricalproperties show excellent stability under variable temperature, humidity andfrequency conditions.

Polyetherimide resin compounded with glass-fiber is the material choice for a newly designedprobe housing on a medical monitor molded by Precision Interconnect ofPortland, Oregon. The small, inch-long part provides physical protection forthe electrical connectors within. The attributes of PEI （high strength,rigidity, dimensional stability and impact resistance） are critical in theapplication as is chemical resistance to cleaning fluids. A critical color match is required to match the color of the monitor. The housing is secured tothe wires with overmolded, flexible Lomod®.
