TEDUR L 9409-3.2 PPS

PPS is a high-temperature linear PPS that offers excellent dimensional stability, inherent flame resistance, and excellent chemical and solvent resistance. PPS is insoluble in all known solvents below 200°C （392° F）. It also shows tremendous stability in both typical and alternative automotive fuels.

Domestic Water Supply Manifold 

In collaboration with Hoechst Technical Polymers Division, UK, extensive FEM and mould flow studies produced a robust casing made from Hostaform C 2521. The demands made on such components are considerable. For example, the casing must withstand a pressure of 12 bar for 50 years and have correspondingly high creep and fatigue strength.

 

Finally, the retention clamps, which are subjected to extremely high mechanical loads, are injection moulded from 1140L4 reinforced with 40% glass fibre.In domestic water taps from Atlantic Plastics, a number of materials ensure permanent smooth operation and freedom from leaks. Other mouldings in the tap are also made from polymers. The shut-off lever and the connector consist of glass-fibre-reinforced Hostaform GV 1/30 owing to its high strength and rigidity. The slip properties of a Hostaform C 9021 K ball in the valve mechanism ensure long-term smooth operation.

Ferrule 

The crucial factors here are Vectra’s good mechanical properties, even in thin wall sections, and the extreme precision with which ferrules can be made. Ferrules can be injection moulded to incorporate holes to carry the 125 μm thick glass fibres to tolerances of 1-2 μm. These ferrules use Vectra grade A460, specially developed for such applications.

 

The 8670A61 grade has outstanding flow properties, making it ideal for fine-structured design components such as plug connectors, known as ferrules. Other essential properties for this application are very low water absorption, low creep at high temperatures, good dimensional stability and  even shrinkage in both flow and transverse directions. Vectra liquid crystal polymer is also used in fibre optics – particularly for connectors.has been working closely with systems and cable manufacturers to develop a number of special （PPS） grades tailored specifically to the requirements of fibre optic technology.
