Fortron 6165D8 PPS

linear PPS may be used with meltblown and spunbond technologies for melt spun nonwovens. Fiber and monofilament made from PPS can be found in woven or mesh conveyor belts, flame resistant clothing and filtration media.  also offers unfilled, high viscosity PPS suitable for extrusion and compression molding to produce slabs, rods and other stock shapes commonly used for prototyping.

Heat Exchanger 

Drawing their heat supply from circulating water, the fresh air heating units in cars often incorporate a side section made from PPS. This side section is secured by the edge of the metal heat exchanger, which is crimped around it. Incorporated in the side section are the inlet and outlet connections for the water-antifreeze mixture. The service temperature extends up to 140°C. Only PPS has the necessary resistance to chemicals. This was determined by tests in a water-antifreeze mixture at 150°C over 1000 hours.

PPS was the only material to display the strength previously specified. Its excellent mechanical properties, such as high strength values, moduli and low tendency to creep, meet the designers exacting requirements. PPS high dimensional stability makes it possible to meet the fine tolerances this application requires .

PPS 

PPS is a high-temperature linear PPS that offers excellent dimensional stability, inherent flame resistance, and excellent chemical and solvent resistance. PPS is insoluble in all known solvents below 200°C （392° F）. It also shows tremendous stability in both typical and alternative automotive fuels.

Standard injection moldable grades with glass fibers and/or mineral reinforcements are available, but many specialty grades are available for improved lubricity, low warpage, faster cycling and other areas of enhanced performance. Certain grades of PPS comply with ISO 10993 and USP Class VI, and Drug （DMF 14844） and Device （MAF-1097） Master Files have been created for them. These grades also meet European Directive 2002/72/EC for food contact applications and BfR （German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment , formerly BgVV, the German Federal Institute for Consumer Health Protection and Veterinary Medicine） standards.
